OSK PhD Day: 22 November
Register here for the Museum Talk at Leiden University
Dear PhD Researchers at OSK,
Would you please save the date Wednesday November 22nd for the next OSK PhD event? This academic year the very first PhD council of the OSK was formed and this event marks the kick-off of their activities. To delve into contemporary issues in the museum landscape, we will visit the exhibition Loot – 10 stories at the Mauritshuis in The Hague where we will speak with junior curator Sheila Reda and exhibition employee Daphne Martens who worked on Loot – 10 stories; and with Oscar Ekkelboom, whose PhD research specializes in decolonial practices in Dutch museums. Then we will travel to Leiden University to attend the Museum talk ‘The Future Museum: Digital Replicas, Virtual Reality and Storytelling for a New Audience’ by Kel O’Neill, the guest curator and artistic lead for the exhibition. We will close the evening with discussion and drinks in Leiden. We hope to meet and see many of you there! The programme will be sent to you shortly, but please register already for the Museum Talk at Leiden if you would like to attend.
Best wishes,
The members of the OSK PhD Council; Christien Schrover, Julia Alting, Nicole Ganbold and Mariëlle Ekkelenkamp.
